Mine lately has definitely been staying up too late and watching 24.  We've been watching it on Netflix, so it's easy to just keep pressing 'play' when we are DYING to see what happens next.  Sometimes even after Kevin goes to bed, I'll watch it on my iPad with headphones on.  And I wonder why I'm tired.

Oops, forgot to post this last Friday.  The theme was "What's in the fridge". 

Lest I continue to promote a culture of fakery that seems to sometimes run rampant on the internet, I must be honest about the "staging" that took place for this picture.  Because believe me, my refrigerator does not usually look like this.  

First, I've been trying to eat much healthier over the past month, hence the abundance of produce.  Secondly, I went to Costco the day I took this picture, and before I refilled the fridge when I got home, I took everything out and cleaned the whole thing.  It looked disgusting prior to me doing that.  Both boys were gone that day, at Grandma Heidi's, or this would have been a much more daunting task.  Nick would have had a heyday with the glass containers and anything he could dump or pour out.

So, all of that being said, here is the picture of my fridge on that day.

This week: From the ground up.

This image is a tribute to my husband.  He climbs these things, not with a ladder, but with hooks on his boots.  I'm way too afraid to ever try that, so I admire him:)

This week's challenge is 'creative editing'.

For this picture I used a lightroom preset called "cheery cherry", applied a hazy tone curve, and put on some rounded corners.  A little bit outside of my usual editing box, but kind of fun.

This week's 52 assignment-fill the frame.  I had a blast on Wednesday "filling the frame" with this sweet little 6 day old boy.

Another week of the 52 on Friday project.  This week's challenge was "self portrait".  Normally this isn't too hard with a self timer and a tripod, but I can't find my tripod anywhere.  So, here's my best shot.  This wasn't my favorite challenge..

If I'm going to do the stretch-your-arm-out-and-hold-your-camera-while-you-snap-a-photo shot, I'm going to need a wider angle lens!

Project 52 {3}

What's in your bag?  That's the theme for this week's 52 project.  In all honesty I would have totally forgotten about this and had no submission, but Nick helped me out this morning.  He wanted so badly to know what was in my bag, that he climbed up on top of the dining room table and pushed my purse to the floor.  After I said, "Oh Nicky!" I remembered, oh yeah!  This could work!

So, the usual is in there.  Mom stuff, wallet, and then a few new things.  I attended and helped with an awareness/appreciation night for the volunteers and contributors to Life Choices of Wenatchee.   As you can see, I brought home some info about all of it, and I'm giving some serious thought to seeing if I could put my nursing skills to use down there a few hours per week.  What a great place with a great cause.

52 Fridays-catch up-week 2

I forgot to blog my entry for last weeks year long challenge.  It's a theme assingment every week, and last week the theme was grocery shopping.  

We hit Safeway last week to get all the stuff we would need for a week of dinner recipes, since I'm trying to get back on the meal planning bandwagon.  Milo rode in the germ-mobile.

The 52 project

Another photography project is underway.  I'm in a "momtography" group, and our fearless leader is giving us one theme each week this year, and we do our best to express it in photo form.

This week, the theme was "Resolutions".

My only resolution this year, is to spend more time being present with my boys, and less time obsessing over cleaning, organizing, & hypothetical fears of "what if someone stops by and there are crumbs on the floor, toys everywhere, underwear on the bathroom floor, dirty laundry pile at the foot of the bed, unmade beds.....".  You can see I have some sort of disorder.  So, my goal for this year and always, is to relinquish my idols of tidiness and order and enjoy the 2 sons I've been given.
